About

Pietro Berto was one of our first international student currently working at Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. He met with our Character Scholar early on for a full year and maximized that time to eventual success.

“At the age of 29 I sold everything I had to dedicate all of myself to 3d arts.
I'm a self taught artist born and raised in Rome. My area of focus is Character Art, both organic and Hard Surface.
I work for games, cinematics and TV Shows.
I gained good skills working with scan data, proper and accurate UV mapping, retopology, creation and understanding of the main maps in the texturing process (normal, height, spec, gloss, albedo, cavity, subsurface scatter, fuzz, emissive....) following a PBR workflow.
And I love to keep practicing and study anatomy, in this neverending process.
Basic Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4.

I had the pleasure to work on the american TV shows “Sleepy Hollow”, “Outcast”, and the most recent "Star Trek Discovery". My duty was to build digital doubles of the characters/creatures. From scan data cleanup and modeling, to final maps.
I also worked for several months on the creation of the characters for the game “The Golf club 2”.
Currently working on an unannounce AAA games,

In 2014/2015 had the opportunity to enroll to workshops with Ryan Kingslien, Paul Gaboury (Pixologic
Zbrush Team), Josh Herman (Marvel), Gurmukh Bashin (Cloud Imperium). And more recently I had been
mentored by the great artist Frankie De Rosa (DICE LA) for almost a year, learning all of the insights of a
big production pipeline.
2016/2017 Scott Eaton's figure sculpting course.

As a side note, I love snowboarding, wakeboarding and old school Harleys.
